APA Format: TV or Radio

To cite a nonprint source such as a television or radio program, a typical bibliographic entry will appear as follows:

Crystal, L. (Executive Producer). (1993, October 11). The MacNeil/Lehrer news hour [Television broadcast]. New York and Washington, DC: Public Broadcasting Service.

The name(s) of the producer, director, or other significant contributors are listed at the head of the entry, last names first. Each name is followed by a description in parentheses of that individual's function. After listing the date in parentheses, italicize the program title, and specify in brackets whether it is a radio or television broadcast. List the location and the name of the broadcasting service that produced the program.

For more specific information, consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition) or see the APA style website.
