:: Biographical Statement
As a visual artist, I have particular interest in the interplay of images and text. Writing has also been an integral part of my process of artmaking. My association with colleagues in the Center for Writing Studies has helped deepen and expand my understanding of the written word, and how it connects with my other non-textual vocabularies. My research, and my teaching, continues to explore how the written word intersects with other inscription technologies — still images, video, sound — in an increasingly visual and electronic culture.
