APA Format: Single Author When only a single author is listed for a text,
a typical reference entry will appear as follows: Bowlby, J. (1973). Attachment and loss. New
York: Basic Books. The entry should begin with the author's last name, followed by the initial(s). Date of publication follows, in parentheses. The title should be italicized, but only the first word should be capitalized. The place of publication comes next, then the publisher. Use a colon after the place of publication. End the reference with a period. References should be double spaced and use a hanging indent format. The first line of each reference should be flush to the left, and each subsequent line should be indented. For more specific information, consult the Publication
Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition)
or see the APA style
website. |
