National Sun Yat-sen University invites applications for two full-time open- rank faculty positions starting Aug 1, 2008. All positions are a 50% appointment in the Center for Humanities and Social Sciences and a 50% appointment in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature. Each successful candidate at the rank of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor will teach two courses related to Englishand American literature or cultural studies per semester. The candidate at the rank of full professor will teach one course per semester. All candidates are expected to complete a research project or revise a doctoral dissertation in Early Modern / Pre-modern Cultural History and Literature. The focus of research project must be involved with ETHNICITY or NATIONHOOD.
Ph. D., strong research interests and teaching experience will give preference. Applicants for full professorship should have substantial publications. Applications will have to provide three copies of letters of application, C.V., statement of research project(s), curricular interests, writing samples and three letters of recommendation by March 15, 2008 and send to Director of Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, National Sun Yat-sen University, 70 Lien-Hai Road, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
