Graduate Assistantship – Beginning Summer 2008 College of Business , Department of Finance Career Services and Admissions
The Department of Finance in the College of Business is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistantship to work with the MSF program. This position will work with Assistant Director of Corporate Relations and Employment Services in the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program as well as the Admissions Committee.
For career services the Graduate Assistant will:
• Assist with resume/cover letter review for graduate level finance students
• Provide administrative support to Assistant Director – conducting student surveys, coordinating mailings, compiling resume books, coordinating workshops and other support as needed by the Assistant Director
• Conduct interviews to identify strengths/weaknesses in employment skills set; suggest strategy to address weaknesses
For the Admissions Committee the Graduate Assistant will:
• Assist with application processing, data entry, and files
• Communicate with applicants as needed requiring their application documents
• Compiling statistical reports as needed
Applicants should possess the following attributes:
• Graduate student in good academic standing
• Superior written and verbal skills
• Excellent editing skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work closely with highly diverse student population
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including experience working with databases
• Experience in working with confidential information
Preference given to students with:
• Experience working with and/or counseling international students/applicants
• Experience assessing communication skills of non-native speakers
• Familiarity with business terminology
