POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Graduate Assistant A search is underway for statistical/GIS graduate assistants at Applied Technologies for the Learning in the Arts and Sciences (ATLAS) for the 2008-2009 academic year. A description of the ATLAS assistant position and a questionnaire to be completed by each candidate are available in 213 EB (Journals Room) or see Chris Clark in 210 EB. The questionnaires and a vita should be returned with each application.
Incoming ATLAS assistants must complete a summer training program of approximately 10-15 hours. ATLAS assistants who have gone through this training believe it is invaluable in preparing them for their duties.
This coming year, the 9-month stipend for half-time assistants at ATLAS for the first year will be $15,000 with a tuition and fee waiver.
The quality of research and instructional services offered at ATLAS is heavily dependent on attracting applicants with high quantitative aptitudes and a string interest in advancing their skills in the used of statistical and GIS computer applications. Communication skills and a desire to help teach users are also very important.
If there are any questions about this position you can contact Maryalice Wu at malice@uiuc.edu. We will be accepting applications until May 7th.
